Grand Prize Wedding Logline
A newly engaged Chicago Polish woman fights fear, doubt, and family when she dives into the classy world of downtown Chicago wealth by winning a dream wedding.

Grand Prize Wedding Summary
Have you ever wanted to do something completely out of your comfort zone, and nobody you love supports you?  That’s what Delores (Del) Wolski experiences in Grand Prize Wedding.  Delores is a very plain girl(lots of potential as we all have), but for now no style what-so-ever.  She and Pauley Ignatowski, the love of her life, become engaged.  Delores dares to mention she’d like to break tradition, and do something different for her wedding.  You see the Wolski’s are Polish, living on the northwest side of Chicago (Polish Downtown).  This is the only life Del has ever known.  Everyone in her family has their reception at Pulaski Hall.  There is no deviation from that.  In fact Betty (Del’s mom) says “know your place” to Del when she suggests the reception could be somewhere else.

On a shopping trip in downtown Chicago, a place where Del rarely ventures, she discovers that Macy’s is holding it’s 1st Annual Wedding Sweepstakes.  This is a chance to win an all expenses paid wedding at the gorgeous Four Seasons Hotel, coordinated by the famous wedding planner to the wealthy, Constance Charles (CC).  Del hesitates entering the contest knowing it would infuriate her parents, but really her own doubts and fears start to take over.  Her best friend Sylvia convinces Del she must enter, and let fate decide.  Three days later Del finds out she wins the wedding, and a makeover to boot.

Her parents are most unhappy with the idea of this “untraditional” wedding and Pauley is nervous as well.  Despite her family’s reaction and her own trepidation, Del decides to go for it.  Del embarks on the adventure of her life with CC and her unpleasant assistant Gregory.  She enters a new world that scares and excites her.  However, this new world doesn’t come easy.  Del’s loved ones fight her all the way, and one unstable person goes over the edge.  Grand Prize Wedding is about believing in yourself, taking chances and ultimately discovering that there is no “place” for anyone.  We are all equal and free to pursue what we want.
